The Challenge

Every successful project needs planning and commitment to become sustainable.  The BACA-RCO Beautification Committee has been working diligently to help design a space that everyone in the Belmont Community can enjoy.

Fundraising is needed to complete the Belmont Commons.  The total estimate for developing the conceptual masterplan is approximated at $1,502,730.00 but will be built in 2-3 phases.

BACA-CDC has raised $369,575.00 towards the completion of Phase One of the project

Good News!  A Ground-Breaking Ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 09, 2023 starting at 11:00 am.  Join us to celebrate the beginning of the park's development at 864 - 874 N Preston Street Philadelphia PA 19104.  Phase I of the park's completion is targeted for Augusr 2024.

Please keep in mind that additional support is needed to complete Phases II & II of the Belmont Commons Cultural Activities Park.

Park Mission

OUR MISSION IS TO BUILD A SAFE SPACE THAT'S FREE OF GUN VIOLENCE AND BULLYING FOR OUR COMMUNITY YOUTH...

Starting Kids off Right & Why Start Early

Children growing up in poverty are at a major disadvantage.  Investments aimed at providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for children from birth to age five have long-term positive impacts.  The influence of early development matters to everything from kindergarten readiness to high school graduation to stable employment and health care cost.

"Nobel Laureate Economist James Heckman put it well:  The research show that high-quality birth-to-5 programs for disadvantage children can deliver 13%-per-year return on investment-a rate substantially higher than the 7% to 10% return previously established for preschool programs serving 3-to-4-year-olds.  James Heckman's theory shows significant gains are realized through better outcomes in education, health, social behaviors, and employment." As BACA-CDC agree with his theory.
